Information to candidates
After the call deadline, all applications are reviewed for eligibility by PhD@Tec21 project coordinator and manager. Applications will be rejected if they are incomplete, do not meet the mobility or applicant status criteria, or fail to meet the eligibility requirements (e.g., English certificate below the minimum level, missing Master’s degree). Eligible applicants will be informed by email within three weeks after the deadline. Only those who pass this initial check will proceed to Step 2 – Evaluation.
Each application is reviewed by three external experts from the PhD@Tec21 scientific panel. Evaluations focus on the applicant’s academic excellence, the quality and feasibility of the proposed work plan, motivation and career goals, and overall experience. Applicants scoring 70 out of 100 or higher move on to the next stage. For each research topic, the five best candidates are invited for interview. Results are communicated by email within one month.
Short-listed applicants will be invited to a 35-minute online interview held in April–May 2026. Each interview will be conducted by a panel of external and internal experts from Université Grenoble Alpes. The session includes a short presentation by the candidate followed by questions from the committee. Evaluations focus on research abilities, motivation, communication skills, quality of the answers to the questions and English proficiency.
After the interviews, the PhD@Tec21 Management Team will establish a final ranking for each research topic based on the committee’s scores. The top-ranked applicant will be offered the position, while those ranked 2nd to 5th (above 70/100) will be placed on a reserve list.
Applicants will be informed of their results and ranking by email early June 2026. Selected candidates will have seven days to confirm their acceptance. The list of successful applicants will then be published on the PhD@Tec21 website.
